Windshield chip assessment and repair in Truckee.
Can my windshield be repaired, or does it need replacement?
Repairability depends on the damage type, size, depth and location, along with the condition of the glass. Damage near an edge, in a critical viewing area or in a camera’s viewing area can change the recommendation. Send a clear photo and your vehicle details; our Truckee team will assess the glass before recommending repair or replacement.
Will a repaired windshield chip disappear completely?
Not necessarily. A resin repair can stabilize suitable damage and improve its appearance, but a visible mark may remain. The result depends on the damage and any contamination. We explain the expected result and limitations before starting, including the possibility that replacement may still be needed.
How much does windshield replacement cost in Truckee?
The quote depends on your vehicle, the required glass and features, installation work and any required ADAS calibration. A head-up display, heated glass, rain sensor or camera mount can change the part specification. Share your year, make, model and VIN so we can prepare a vehicle-specific quote. Insurance coverage and your deductible affect your out-of-pocket cost.
How long does windshield replacement take, and when can I drive?
We confirm appointment timing after reviewing glass availability, installation and any required calibration. Our fast-cure urethane has a 30-minute minimum safe drive-away time after installation, subject to the manufacturer’s application conditions. That is not the total appointment length. Installation and calibration take additional time, and your technician will confirm when your vehicle is ready.
Yes. Tell us your OEM glass preference before the replacement part is ordered. We review the VIN, equipment and manufacturer requirements, then discuss the proposed glass and availability. If you are using insurance, the policy and insurer’s authorization determine whether the requested part is covered.
Do you replace side windows, back glass and sunroof glass?
Yes. Our services include door and side glass, rear glass, quarter and vent glass, and sunroof or panoramic roof glass. Send the VIN and a photo of the affected panel so we can identify the correct glass and plan the work. Part availability and service requirements vary by vehicle.

Vehicle-specific procedures for cameras, radar and other equipped systems.
ADAS calibration planning and equipment in Truckee.
Does my vehicle need ADAS calibration after windshield replacement?
If your vehicle has a windshield-mounted forward-facing ADAS camera, it requires calibration after the windshield is replaced. This camera is often near the rearview mirror and may support lane and forward-collision features. We review your VIN, equipment and manufacturer procedures, then plan the required calibration with the installation.
Is calibration needed even if there is no warning light?
Yes. A windshield-mounted forward-facing ADAS camera requires calibration after windshield replacement even when no warning light appears. The absence of a warning light does not replace the manufacturer’s calibration procedure. Our team confirms the applicable work for the vehicle.
What is the difference between static and dynamic ADAS calibration?
Static calibration uses specified targets and setup conditions while the vehicle is stationary. Dynamic calibration follows the manufacturer’s prescribed driving conditions and process. Some vehicles require both. The vehicle manufacturer determines the method and prerequisites; we confirm the appropriate procedure before scheduling.
Can all ADAS calibration be completed in my driveway?
No. Some procedures require a controlled calibration space, while others require specific driving conditions. The vehicle and manufacturer’s prerequisites determine the suitable setting. A mobile windshield installation does not remove calibration requirements. We explain any shop visit or other arrangements needed before your appointment.
Do radar, surround-view cameras and night vision need separate calibration?
They can. These systems use different sensors and procedures, so a windshield-camera calibration does not automatically cover them. Tell us about collision work, bumper or mirror repairs, sensor replacement and any night-vision equipment. We review the VIN and repair scope to identify supported procedures and required prerequisites.

Can I use insurance for windshield repair or replacement?
Yes. We help coordinate glass service and required calibration with insurance claims. Your policy and insurer determine coverage, deductible and authorization. Have your insurer and any existing claim number available when you contact us. We can also prepare a direct-pay quote so you can compare the quoted cost with your deductible.
Do you help with insurance billing and claim calls?
Yes. For an approved, covered glass claim, you pay your applicable deductible and we bill the insurer for the covered balance. We discuss glass options and work outside the approved claim before authorization. We can help with claim coordination and insurer calls; submitting our insurance-assistance form does not itself file a claim.
Is windshield replacement covered by a workmanship warranty?
Our replacement services are backed by a lifetime warranty on workmanship. Ask our team for the applicable written terms, exclusions and process for reporting a concern. New impact damage or an unrelated vehicle fault is different from an installation issue. Confirm any chip-repair benefit or current offer with your written quote.
Do you work on luxury vehicles and newer camera-equipped vehicles?
Yes. We service European, Italian, luxury and newer vehicles, including Porsche, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Subaru. Glass specifications and calibration requirements depend on the VIN, model year and equipment. Share those details so we can confirm the correct glass and supported service for your vehicle.
What information should I provide for an auto glass quote?
Send your vehicle’s year, make, model and VIN, the glass that needs attention and clear photos of the damage. Include your location, scheduling needs and any relevant safety features or recent repairs. If using insurance, have your carrier and claim status available. We confirm the service scope, price and appointment separately from the initial quote request.
